Sheriff seizes PDP hqtrs as Makarfi writes INEC.................

I’m in charge till 2018, says ex-Borno governor
Caretaker chair: I’m authentic leader
AFTER a short break, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders returned yesterday to their bitter struggle for the party’s control.
Ousted National Chairman Ali Modu Sheriff took over the secretariat in Abuja, proclaiming himself the authentic leader and dismissing the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee as an illegal body.
But the Makarfi camp wrote to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), demanding to be recognised as the authentic leadership of the party.
Sheriff seizes PDP hqtrs as Makarfi writes INEC
INEC was yet to take a decision on the PDP crisis last night.
It was gathered that the electoral commission was awaiting the decision of the court on all pending issues.
Sheriff yesterday staged a dramatic return to the party’s national secretariat.
With Sheriff were erstwhile National Secretary Prof. Wale Oladipo, ousted National Auditor Adewole Adeyanju and a former presidential aide, Ahmed Gulak. There was a small crowd of supporters.
An initial attempt by the party chiefs to enter the building as early as 9a.m. was blocked by policemen manning the gate – apparently on the orders of the Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee.
Undeterred, Sheriff went to confer with Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase, at the Force Headquarters and got permission to be allowed into the building.

Niger Delta Avengers gives govt conditions for talks...........

Fed Govt ready for dialogue, says Kachikwu
Militant groups in row
The Federal Government yesterday said it has not closed the avenues for negotiations with the new Militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), saying it would explore every available opportunity for negotiation so that the NDA can stop the bombings of oil pipelines and platforms.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Ibe Kachikwu, stated this at the South-South Town Hall Meeting held at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotels and Golf Resort in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Niger Delta Avengers gives govt conditions for talks
Kachikwu said there is no theatre in the world where conflicts have been resolved through a battle. He said his mandate as minister of state for petroleum is to protect oil production and to generate more revenue for the government.
He explained that on the part of the Federal Government, negotiating with the militant group is not an evidence of weakness of the military but that massively bombing a territory would not articulate a solution to the already exiting problems.
“It doesn’t matter who is right and who is wrong. I have too many objectives in this portfolio; one is to present production and generate the revenue because if we don’t, all the things we are talking about here will be just a joke.

Bayelsa: ‘Avengers’ hit two pipelines.....

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) yesterday launched into a gun battle with members of the militant group, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), in the creeks of Bayelsa State in the aftermath of twin blasts by the militants on two pipelines belonging to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) and Aiteo.
 Bayelsa: ‘Avengers’ hit two pipelines
Simultaneouly, soldiers laid siege to Oporoza community, Warri South-West council area of Delta State, suspected to be the hideout of wanted ex-militant, Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.
The troops arrested seven suspects and recovered explosives, arms and ammunition.
There is suspicion in security circles that the NDA is working for Tompolo who has repeatedly denied the claim.
Attacked at 2.15am yesterday were Nembe 1, 2 and 3 Brass to Bonny Trunk lines belonging to Aiteo, the latest by the group on targets in the oil and gas sector of the economy.
Aiteo acquired the 100kn Nembe trunk line from Shell Production Development Company (SPDC) in 2014 but Shell still uses it to convey crude to its Bonny Export Terminal.
The militants, who accessed the locations of the pipelines in speedboats, reportedly blew up the trunk lines with the aid of dynamites.

My 12 months as president..........

Twelve months after he swept into office on an euphoric tide of Nigeria’s desire for change, President Muhammadu Buhari is a man beset on every side  by problems with no easy solutions. The economy is in trouble with Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele warning of a looming recession. The naira rate has crashed against major global currencies. In the North East, the Boko Haram insurgency has weakened considerably. But that spot of good news is offset by the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta, with a new group called the Avengers bombing oil pipelines. In the South East, a dormant Biafran agitation has been revived.
 My 12 months as president
But to look at him, you wouldn’t know that Buhari is a leader confronted with all these troubles. On Thursday, May 27, just 48 hours to the first anniversary of the administration, he was scheduled to speak with interview teams from selected national newspapers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
As we wait our turn in one of the conference rooms, he is ushered in with scant ceremony by the aide-de-camp. ‘Gentlemen, let rise for Mr. President’ and we are up and running. After introductions by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, we get down to business.
Buhari has a tough guy image but is soft spoken and hardly raises his voice above a reasonable cadence. But one thing anyone who has ever
interviewed him, would not miss is his dry wit. That jocular side was on display intermittently during and after the interview session.
He spoke on the bumpy transition from the last government, shocking discoveries in office and the huge burdens which face his administration going forward. At the session with Buhari were Editor, Sunday Nation, FESTUS ERIYE, and Managing Editor, Northern Operation, YUSUF ALLI.
Looking at the last one year, how would you assess what has happened in terms of your expectations when you took office, the challenges you met and the progress made or lack of it?

Information ministry to unveil recovered assets – Buhari....

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday said the Ministry of Information will give details of the assets recovered from corrupt public officers in due course.
Information ministry to unveil recovered assets - Buhari
The President, in his Democracy Day broadcast, said the recovered assets will be ploughed back to the national treasury.
Several past government officials are currently standing trial for corruption and other economic crimes committed during the last administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
President Buhari said: “We are engaged in making recoveries of stolen assets some of which are in different jurisdictions. The processes of recovery can be tedious and time consuming, but today I can confirm that thus far, significant amount of assets have been recovered.

Buhari: I’m ready for probe.....

•Says no reprieve for those behind $2.1b arms deals
•Draws battle line with militants, kidnappers
•Admits being under pressure over Naira free fall
•Accuses Jonathan of wasting N9b on National Conference
President Muhammadu Buhari says he is ready for probe over his 2015 campaign funding or any corruption-related allegations at any time.
Buhari: I’m ready for probe
And he is not prepared to spare any suspect implicated in the $2.1billion arms deals because the cash was illegally drawn from the public funds in the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The President, in a wide ranging interview with select newspaper editors as he concludes his first year in office, vows to deal with militants in the Niger Delta and kidnappers holding the nation hostage.
To him, the National Conference organized by the Jonathan Administration, is nothing more than a waste of N9billion, and admits he has not even bothered to touch the report of the confab.
The report may end up in the archives, he says.

Must Read:- 6 Very Important Acts You Should Never Engage In Before Having S*x With Your Partner....

Before having s*x with your partner any time, there are certain dos and don’ts you have to take into consideration.
Here are six pre-s*x no-nos you may want to take under consideration before your next roll in the hay.
1. Taking an Antihistamine e.g Procold
Antihistamines work by drying out your mucus membranes to relieve nasal congestion and in doing so, can also dry out other parts of your body, especially the v**ina. In a nutshell, no matter how turned on you might be, your vag will not get the memo.

2. Eating Spicy Foods
Foods can affect vaginal odor and taste. Super-spicy foods can cause gas, bloating, and farts that just won’t quit. What’s worse, the residue left on your hands and in your mouth post-nosh is notorious for setting private parts on fire.
3. Drinking Too Much
Sure, light drinking can put some people in the mood, but overdoing it can dull your senses—and may send your big O packing. Since alcohol is a known depressant, your ability to experience an climax may actually be diminished if you’re too buzzed.

Jonathan founded Niger Delta Avengers, Buhari not our problem – Ex-militant......

The National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A, has accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of founding the new militant group known as Niger Delta Avengers.

The National President of NCNDE-A, Israel Akpodoro, who made this shocking revelation in Abuja on Friday, urged the former President to call members of the self acclaimed Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, to order.
According to him, “the Niger Delta Avengers is a creation of the ex-president aimed at thwarting any efforts made by successive administration especially that of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, administration.”
He further revealed that the threat was planed at a well-attended meeting called at the instance of a governor from the South South region in January last year with all the prominent ex-militants including Jonathan and some of his close pals in attendance.

Buhari’s government now losses 1.6 billion per day.......

President Muhammadu Buhari signed the 2016 budget into law last week. Political observers and economist believed the delay was partly due to due diligence to make the budget reflect the reality on ground. Barely 10 days after signing the budget, the entire system already wobbly.
Here is why that is sadly so.
Buhari’s government now losses 1.6 billion per day
President Buhari’s budget was planned on the grounds that his government would sustain oil production of 2.2 million barrels daily. A second basis for benchmarking the budget was the assumption that prices would remain at $38 barrels per day. Both of these projections has already started suffering heavy blows.
This is how:
Buhari’s government has failed to protect oil installations and pipelines in the oil rich Niger Delta. This has empowered a new but deadly militant group called Niger Delta Avengers. This new group is behind the most costly damages to oil installations and security challenges in the Niger Delta. Presently, the Buhari’s administration is only producing 1.6 million barrels per day. It could even slump further.
