Mesut Ozil has been voted as the Germany national team's best player of 2013, as voted for by the fans.
The award is the Arsenal playmaker's third in succession, and caps
off a superb 12 months which saw him claim 17 assists - more than any
player in Europe's top five leagues.
Ozil finished with 30.39 per
cent of the votes, with Bayern Munich duo Phillip Lahm and Thomas Muller
in second and third place respectively.
"Many thanks to the
wonderful fans of the German national team," he said. "I’m really proud
of this vote! I’m looking forward to doing my best for my country in
2014.”
