Just as everyone wonders at the Abuja bomb blast attack and where could possibly be the next target, chaos took the order of the day at the National Assembly as staff abandoned their duty posts as early as 1:30pm to avoid being killed by a bomb allegedly planted in the complex.

According to workers at the National Assembly that spoke our correspondent, “order had been given that everyone should vacate the complex for security reasons,” he said. Effectively, commercial banks operating within the complex closed shop at about 1.pm claiming that there was an order that they should vacate the complex.
The Civil servants officers were also seen taking their leave as they responded, “bomb planted everywhere.”

The announcement from an unidentified source also said that all commercial food vendors should vacate the complex immediately after a rumour that a bomb has been planted within the building. The bomb scare story started making wave around 11:00a.m and by 2:00pm the complex was empty.
A senior security aide to the Clerk of the House of Representatives, (name withheld) confirmed the incident by saying, “there was no instruction to that effect that they should vacate the complex”. So, 2:30pm all staff of NASS had left the complex.
