Jonathan’s Re-election Is My Priority, Says Wike

The Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, has said that his priority was to ensure the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and not the governorship position of the state.
Wike spoke on Saturday when he visited a former militant leader, Chief Soboma Jackrich (aka Egberipapa) in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Describing the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi as a drowning
politician, the minister urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state to work as a family and ensure the re-election of President Jonathan.
“A house divided against itself cannot stand. My priority is to ensure the re-election of the president in 2015 and not who succeeds Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
Wike degraded the governor (Amaechi is an insensitive, irresponsible and drowning
politician,”

He explained that his visit was part of his consultations aimed at boosting the chances of President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2015 presidential election.
While speakingat the Jackrich’s residence, the minister lauded his commitment and doggedness in promoting President Jonathan’s administration and the People Democratic Party.
Nyesom Wike assured the ex-fighter that the state PDP under his leadership would fairness, equity and justice, promising his commitment to
politicians that have worked hard for the party.
The minister pleaded with members of the state PDP to work together in order to ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan wins the 2015 presidential election and justify his (Jonathan) efforts towards transforming the country.
“As the leader of the party and a loyal party man, I will always abide by the rules and wishes of the party. When the time comes, all stakeholders will sit together as a family to choose who will represent the party in the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state,” the minister said.
In response, Jackrich, who is the founder of Kengema Unity Forum expressed gratitude to Wike for the visit, just as he commended the minister
for his loyalty to President Jonathan.
The former militant leader also thanked the minister for repositioning the PDP in the state, promising that KUF will continue to sensitize and mobilize the people towards ensuring that President Jonathan was re-elected in 2015.
