Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has announced that his wife Mel gave birth to a baby boy this morning.
The England international took to social networking site Facebook to express his delight at becoming a father to baby Finley.
Walcott wrote: “So over the moon to announce the birth of our baby boy Finley born this morning…. It’s amazing to be mummy & daddy! Love him so much x”
The 25-year-old has been out of action since January after he suffered a knee injury, which has ruled him out of this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
The childhood sweethearts were wed in Tuscany, Italy last summer, nine years after they first met at a shopping centre in Southampton where the Gunners star first made his breakthrough.
